Guests are invited to check in between 15:00-21:00 and check-out by 11:00.

Q: Is it possible to check-in early or check-out late?

Guests should inform the property in advance of their arrival time using the information on the reservation confirmation received after booking. Please note that if we do not hear from you, we may consider your reservation cancelled as of midnight of the date reserved.

Early check-in and/or late check-out requests are subject to room availability, require advanced notice and additional charges may apply.

Q: Where is the Front Desk for the Hotel?

The front desk for the hotel is located at Imakumano Terrace  at the end of the lane and marked with a sign.

Q: What time is the front desk open from and when does it close?

The front desk is open from 9:00~21:00

There may be times when the Front Office is required to close, however, management can be reached at all times via the LINE App, WhatsApp and The Hotel Main Telephone Line.

Q: Is Management available 24 hours?

Yes. The Kyoto City Accommodation Rules stipulates that a manager be located within 800 meters of the hotel. Management will be onsite even after the Front Office is closed.

Q: Do All the guests in the bookings require to show Identification at the hotel?

​

Yes. The Kyoto City Accommodation Rules stipulates that a manager is required to take copies of identification for guests staying in the accommodation at the time of check-in.

Q: What are the available payment methods?

Imakumano Terrace accepts Credit Card, Paypal and Cash Payments.

For Residents of Japan, guests can pay through bank transfer prior to their arrival date.

Payments made directly through The Hotel website are processed through Stripe Checkout.

Payments made at The Hotel directly are processed through Square Pay Checkout.

Q: What is your hotel deposit policy?

As part of our payment procedure, we require at your arrival either the registration of your credit card  or a cash deposit equivalent to one night's accommodation for bookings of 3 nights of less and 150% of the reserved price for bookings of 4 or more nights.

Q: Is Consumption Tax Included?

Consumption Tax in Japan is 10%. When guests make their reservation the tax will be calculated and a total amount will be displayed.

There is an accommodation tax payable from October 1st, 2018 in the City of Kyoto. This tax has been included in the room rate.

Q: Do you offer any non-smoking rooms?

​

Our Hotel is a completely smoke-free hotel.  Please be aware of the strict smoking rules Kyoto City has in place to preserve the city and keep the environment clean.

Q: How many guests can occupy each machiya? 

​

The guests numbers per machiya are regulated by the Kyoto City Hotel Accommodation Licensing Department. Each machiya accommodates different maximum occupancy limits.  Please review the details on the properties page. Please understand that infants are considered as one head count.

Q: Storage of Valuables.

​

There are safe deposit boxes available in each machiya. The door code on the front door of each machiya is also changed with every new reservation. A master key is available at the Front Office.

Q: Are the machiyas connected? 

​

No. Each machiya is a stand alone property. Guests who would like to inquire about group bookings for larger parties can contact The Hotel directly for special rates and availability.

Q: Does imakumano terrace have gift certificates?

​

Yes. please contact the hotel for our gift certificate options.  They are valid for two years from the date of purchase. 

​

Q: If a guest becomes unwell during their stay what should they do?

​

The Duty Manager is on call 24 hours a day, and is trained to assist guests with emergencies. Each machiya is equipped with a directory with contact information for general hospitals in the surrounding areas and clinics.
